I have a 1998 Ford Expedition and found that these lights are an interference fit and take a few strong taps from a rubber hammer to slide into place. They contact the grill frame in the front so be sure to protect your paint with some blue tape when test fitting. A few more installation notes (since this unit comes with instructions for wiring but nothing for the actual light installation). I'm writing this long instruction to help you with this installation because it took me a while to figure this out and others might benefit. The lights look great but these units should come with instructions similar to what I provide below (maybe with pictures), and ideally would not be an interference fit in my grill. Its assumed you know that the lights are held in elegantly by three threaded pins that have plastic collars. The plastic collars are released by pulling up on the two metal pull tabs in the car frame behind the lights. The side light is held in simply with one #20 torx screw on its top.The position of these collars will control the angle of the headlights when they are installed. Measure the depth of the plastic collars on the pins from the base (light side) of the screw to the groove where the metal retainer bracket will slide into. In my case it was not proper to set the depth on the replacement lights to match the ones you are removing. The replacement lights should have the collars approximately 3/8" further out on the pin, so use the original lights as your reference and then add 3/8". To move the plastic collar first mark on the threaded pin with a marker where you want the collar to be. Then chuck up the end of the pin in your electric drill, gently grab the base of the plastic collar (the part with the X-wings) with some pliers, and slowly spin the stud with your drill until the collar has moved into position. The top pin tends to control the light alignment and in my case the lights install from the factory pointing down toward the ground too much so maybe set the collar for this pin just a little shorter than described above.Test fit the lights with the main headlight plugged in so if by magic you can make them fit the first time (and have the threaded pins stick through the back side enough that you can lock them in place with the metal sliding bracket)then you can check that they are pointing (low beams)where you want (about waist high at 30 ft). The high beams go "everywhere" so don't worry about those.Chances are you will need to pull them out and make an adjustment to the plastic collars at least once but once you are ready to try for the last time you can splice into the blinker wire and mount them for the final time.Installing the lights requires you to make sure the X-wings are rotated so they straddle the guide rails protruding from the vehicle. Position the light so all three pins are pointed at their receiving holes and the rail guides will all engage the rails at the same time. You may be able to get the outer 2 pins aligned and then the single pin by favoring the 2 pins but they all have to slide onto the rails at approximately at the same time. This is by far the most frustrating part of this whole operation.BTW, the "insert and turn" blinker light installation causes a small issue worth mentioning for the right blinker. Once you do the standard 'insert and turn' to lock it will be sticking in the way of the locating pins. Press in the light and continue to turn it so the connector is facing up. This is the only way it will not interfere with the locating pin bosses. On the left this isn't a problem because the lights lock into the proper position naturally.Since I didn't give top rating I figure very few people will read this but those that do I with you the best.
